Working fire on Riceville Rd.
With some near by storms and having one MVA run under our belts for the night the members of St. 22 had a feeling that the night wasn't over. Sure enough as everyone got into bed the tones went off again for a working structure fire in St.29s (Riceville-Java) first due with St. 22 being third due. E-223 responded w/5 and arrived with the assignment of fire attack. Upon arrival of E-223, the bulk of the fire appeared to be knocked down in the two story balloon frame residential structure. E-223 made entry (the second entry made) through the first floor and searched for fire all the way to the second. Fire appeared to be in the C and D side walls. The walls were opened up and another knock down was made. Through out the 4 hour incident several flare ups came and several knock downs were made. The large balloon frame house gave members trouble but the members prevailed. Units on scene: P-293 and 291 (Riceville-Java), E-261 (Renan), E-223, R-228 and T-226 (Gretna), and P-211 (Chatham)Fire on Riceville Rd.
